It is good for me that You have humbled \/ tested me, so that I may learn Your testimonies.A Templar psalm par excellence. <\/p>

This is uncompromising. Pure knight-monk. Not a psalm of heroic triumph, but one of rule, order, discipline and faithfulness. <\/p>

  • It is not the language of victimhood.<\/li>
  • It is not romanticised suffering.<\/li>
  • It is about finding meaning in trial.<\/li>
  • Stand upright, remain faithful, even when it is difficult. Persevere, day after day. <\/li><\/ul>

    For a Templar, trial is not a setback, but instruction.Not: \u201cWhy is this happening to me?\u201d \u2014 not in order to suffer.But: \u201cWhat does this teach me in obedience?\u201d \u2014 in order to learn: how can I serve better?<\/p>

    This verse fits perfectly with:<\/p>

    • monastic discipline<\/li>
    • military obedience<\/li>
    • inner formation<\/li>
    • and bearing what you did not choose, but nevertheless accept<\/li>

      Bonum mihi lex oris tui, super millia auri et argenti.<\/strong><\/span>The law from Your mouth is worth more to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.<\/p>

      Manus tuae fecerunt me, et plasmaverunt me: da mihi intellectum, et discam mandata tua.<\/strong><\/span>Your hands have made and formed me; give me understanding, so that I may learn Your commandments.<\/p>

      Qui timent te videbunt me, et laetabuntur: quia in verba tua supersperavi.<\/strong><\/span>Those who revere You shall see me and rejoice, because I have placed my hope in Your word.<\/p>

      Cognovi, Domine, quia aequitas judicia tua: et in veritate tua humiliasti me.<\/strong>I know, Lord, that Your judgements are righteous and that in Your faithfulness You have tested me.<\/p>

      Fiat misericordia tua ut consoletur me, secundum eloquium tuum servo tuo.<\/strong>Let Your mercy comfort me, according to Your word to Your servant.<\/p>

      Qui timent te videbunt me, et laetabuntur: quia in verba tua supersperavi. <\/strong>Those who revere You shall see me and rejoice, because I have placed my hope in Your word.<\/p>

      By \u201cthose who revere You\u201d we do not mean people who are afraid of God. They are people who honour God, trust Him and take Him seriously \u2014 believers who try to live according to His word. <\/p>

      What is being said here is:When other believers see that, despite my trial, I have continued to trust in God\u2019s word, they will draw courage and joy from it.<\/p>

      Not: they will rejoice because they admire me.But: they will rejoice because they see in me that trust in God is not in vain.<\/p>

      His steadfastness therefore becomes a testimony to others. They see someone who has endured humiliation or trial, but who has not become bitter and has not abandoned his faith.As a result, their own trust is strengthened as well: \u201cLook \u2014 he continued to hope. God did not abandon him. Perhaps I too can persevere.\u201d <\/p>

      For a Templar, this fits beautifully:<\/p>

      your faith and faithfulness do not belong to you alone;the way you bear your trial affects your brothers;steadfastness gives courage to others;the one who continues to trust can become an example without words.<\/p>

      In very ordinary language: people who love God will rejoice when they see that I have continued to trust Him.In one concise sentence: my perseverance becomes hope for another.That is the meaning of this sentence. Not self-glorification, but brotherhood: by remaining faithful yourself, you help another person to remain faithful as well. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
