\u00faltimo momento antes de la decapitaci\u00f3n de San Firm\u00edn. La estatua se encuentra en la catedral de Amiens, Francia. <\/p><p>San Firm\u00edn, o Firminus de Amiens, o Firminus el Viejo, naci\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 272 en Pompaei-ilun, actual Pamplona, Espa\u00f1a. Es hijo de un senador romano. Su padre se hab\u00eda convertido al cristianismo y fue bautizado por San Saturnino. Por lo que fue condenado al martirio. En 257 muri\u00f3 atado tras un toro loco.    <\/p><p>La carrera de toros en Pamplona, que a\u00fan se celebra anualmente, deriva de esto.<\/p><p>Seg\u00fan la tradici\u00f3n, San Firmin fue educado por el sacerdote Honestus, quien lo envi\u00f3 ante el obispo Honorato de Toulouse. Donde tambi\u00e9n se convirti\u00f3 en sacerdote y obispo misionero. Desde all\u00ed parti\u00f3 hacia Agen, actualmente Clermont-Ferrand. All\u00ed fue capturado durante una persecuci\u00f3n de cristianos, pero logr\u00f3 escapar.<br>Finalmente lleg\u00f3 a ser obispo de Amiens. Pero all\u00ed tambi\u00e9n fue capturado y condenado a muerte el 25 de septiembre de 303, por decapitaci\u00f3n.    <\/p><p>La raz\u00f3n por la que el 25 de septiembre es su d\u00eda de fiesta. Seg\u00fan las costumbres y reglas medievales, las personas ajenas a la sociedad deb\u00edan llevar al menos moneda a rayas. De este modo, se pod\u00eda distinguir a estas personas de las honestas. Eran prostitutas, payasos, malabaristas, herejes y&#8230; Verdugos. Ejecutar y torturar a la gente era una tarea vergonzosa.    <\/p><p>En la Edad Media \u2013 especialmente en Occidente \u2013 el excluido y el sumiso se distingu\u00edan por las franjas. As\u00ed que llevar este traje fue una verdadera pena. <\/p><p>Por tanto, las rayas son un s\u00edmbolo de algo malo, del diablo.  <br>En 1254 fue un gran esc\u00e1ndalo cuando un grupo de monjes carmelitas regres\u00f3 de Tierra Santa con ropas a rayas. Eran objeto de burlas, ten\u00edan un pacto con el mismo diablo. Se decidi\u00f3 inmediatamente que la ropa a rayas estaba prohibida para cualquier orden religiosa. En 1310, un cl\u00e9rigo en Francia fue condenado a muerte por llevar galones.   <\/p><p>En la \u00e9poca de la Revoluci\u00f3n Francesa \u2013 a finales de 1700 \u2013 se intent\u00f3 ver las rayas en la ropa como algo bueno de nuevo. Este intento fracas\u00f3, porque en Estados Unidos insist\u00edan en llevar galones en prisi\u00f3n. Esto solo fue abolido en el siglo<sup>XX<\/sup> .
