El emperador romano Majencio (306-312) quiere casarse con ella. Pero ella se niega, porque quiere conservar su virginidad y su fe. El emperador se enfurece y la tortura en la rueda. Se le han hecho puntas de hierro afiladas. Pero Catharina no se rompe, \u00a1pero s\u00ed rompe la rueda!     <\/p><p>El emperador entonces la mand\u00f3 decapitar.<\/p><p>Muchos monasterios est\u00e1n dedicados a ella y tambi\u00e9n se la invoca para enfermedades contagiosas, como la peste.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c7785a5 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"c7785a5\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1f33cbc e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"1f33cbc\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aad6537 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aad6537\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Orden de Santa Catalina del Monte Sina\u00ed,<br>Orden de Santa Catalina del Monte Sina\u00ed.<br>Orden din\u00e1stica de la familia Lusignan,<br>reyes titulares de los reinos de Jerusal\u00e9n, Chipre y Armenia.<br>La Orden de Santa Catalina del Monte Sina\u00ed, una orden din\u00e1stica de la familia Lusignan, existe desde el siglo XII.<br>La tarea original de la Orden era cuidar a los viajeros que se dirig\u00edan al Monte Sina\u00ed, donde se encontraba el ata\u00fad que conten\u00eda las cenizas de Santa Catalina de Alejandr\u00eda (la Gran M\u00e1rtir Santa Catalina).<br>Creyentes viajaron a esta tumba desde lejos y de lejos y, para proteger a los peregrinos, se reuni\u00f3 un grupo de caballeros.<\/p><p>Prometieron acompa\u00f1ar a los peregrinos hasta los restos de Santa Catalina y obedecer incondicionalmente a su l\u00edder \u2014el jefe de la Orden de la familia real de Lusignan\u2014<br>Solo aquellos que visitaron la tumba de Santa Catalina fueron admitidos en la Orden.<br>Tras su iniciaci\u00f3n, se les llam\u00f3 Caballeros de Santa Catalina. Viv\u00edan y actuaban seg\u00fan las reglas de San Basilio, quien establec\u00eda directrices para la vida mon\u00e1stica, centr\u00e1ndose en la vida comunitaria, la oraci\u00f3n lit\u00fargica y el trabajo manual.<br>El rey Levon VI de Armenia (1342-1393) asumi\u00f3 el liderazgo de la Orden, tras lo cual pas\u00f3 a la rama cadete chipriota de la casa real de Lusignan, y despu\u00e9s a sus descendientes. <\/p><p>La Orden ha sido revivida en varias ocasiones por los descendientes de la casa real de Lusignan.
